How Do I Setup Product Modifiers in JuniperData?

If your products offer multiple options for your customers to choose from such as fabric style, color, size, etc., then you may want to use JuniperData's modifier function. The process of creating modifier menus is easy once you get the hang of it.

The first step we need to take is to download the two spreadsheet templates that are required to create a modifier menu: The Modifier List (Modifier Options) and Product Modifiers (Associated Product Modifiers). The Modifier List is the spreadsheet where you enter the details of your modifiers: menu names, prices, color names, and so on. The Product Modifiers spreadsheet is where you attach the modifiers to your products. Let’s begin with the Modifier List.

We will create one modifier menu for this example: “Choose a Color”.  The “Modifier List Name” column is where we will input the name of the modifier menu:

The Modifier List Key column is where we create the code that we will use later to attach your modifiers to your products. For this example, we will use Color1. The Modifier ItemID column is where you enter your internal SKU/ItemID for that entry; it will be shown in the final ItemID for the product. In this example we use the color red, which we assign R-10 as the Modifier ItemID.

Modifier Item Name” is the actual name of the modifier option that will be shown within the App; in our example, we are offering red as a choice, so we will call it "Red" in the Modifier Item Name column. 

The “Price” column is used to enter pricing data for your modifier options. For example, if your company offered higher-quality finishes or fabric grades that cost more, then that data would be entered in the “Price” column. If a modifier option were to deduct from the overall cost of the product, then you would enter the value like the following example: -30.

The “PhotoName” column is where you enter the name of the associated image for the modifier.

Finally, the “IsDeleted” column is where you decide if a modifier will be shown within the app or not: any modifier marked “FALSE” will be shown within the App.

The Product Modifiers spreadsheet is where you connect the modifiers you have created to your products: The “Modifier List Key” column is where you enter the modifier list keys for your modifiers. “ItemID” is where you enter the ItemID of the product that modifier belongs to.

Now that we have the basic functions of the Modifier List and Product Modifiers spreadsheets covered, let’s create some modifiers! Let’s suppose that you have an armchair that comes in three different colors: Red, Blue, and Yellow:

Now let’s assume that you have a sofa with the same color options, and for the sake of clarity, let’s add a loveseat that only comes in two colors:

Since the sofa and the armchair have the same color options, then they would have the same Modifier List Key attached to them. However, since the loveseat only has two color options—even if those options are identical to those offered with other furniture—it would still require its own unique Modifier List Key.

This is what the Product Modifier Template will look once completed following the directions above:

Once you have finished creating your modifiers, you will need to upload them into the Webmanager. Once you have logged in, follow the steps below: 

  • In the vertical blue bar on the left side of your screen, click on “Manage Data”, then “Upload Data Sheets”.
  • Select “Modifier Lists”. Load your Modifier List Key spreadsheet. Confirm the upload.
  • Select “Product Modifiers”. Load your Product Modifiers spreadsheet. Confirm the upload.
  • Click on the green “Push Data Live” button on the top left corner of your screen.
  • You’re done!

To confirm that your modifiers have been loaded correctly, search for the product within the Webmanager. The new modifier menus should be shown within the “Item Display” section. You may also review the new modifier menus within the RepZio App by navigating to the item(s) you created modifiers for. 



My modifiers didn't show up. What gives?

1. Check to make sure that you resynced your iPad/iPhone with any new changes that were pushed by the Webmananger. If you resync your device and still don't see the modifiers, try refreshing your data. This can be done by tapping on the gear icon on the bottom right hand side of your landing page (where Browse, Add Client, Recent etc. menus are presented). Follow the prompts to refresh your data. 

2. Check to make sure that your Modifier List Key(s) in the Product Modifiers spreadsheet are identical to the ones you created in the Modifier List spreadsheet. An incorrect letter, extra space or stray number is enough to cause the error, so double check your work. 

How many modifiers can I have for each product?

You may have as many modifiers as you need for your products. 

How many options can I have for each modifier menu?

You may have as many options as you need.
